Lets stay off the exercise right now…I have noticed this year my diet has gone downhill. Slowly slipping back into drinking Diet Soft Drinks and not water, not watching what I eat. Eating crap, though I will say quantity wise I don’t eat like I used to…..hey, silver lining.
Last week was spring break and we just hung out at home taking it easy. I didn’t want to get up early nor could I find the drive to get to the gym, so no exercise. Well that was bad. What was worse was just my snick snacking….fast food eating….and sweet indulging.
I decided Monday I would have to do something about my eating while I also get on track with the exercise. SO I pulled out my Jorge Cruise Belly Fat Cure book and read up on his eating plan. Basically you are monitoring your Carbs and Sugar….limiting it. Years ago my doctor told me to read up on Sugar Busters to loose some weight, so I thought that his plan would be a good one to follow to try to break my recent sugar fest. Frankly, I feel like I am looking Weeble-like, thick middle, def pear shaped.
On day 2 and so far so good….I just have to remember to make sure I get my 5 a day of veggies and fruits, though I am seriously limiting fruit right now as its high in sugar and I am eating to lose weight. I mean I am human and nothing will be off limits for ever – everything is OK in moderation, but I am truly trying to start eating just more whole natural foods.
I even measured my self – that was DEPRESSING, and signed up to track my stuff on Myfitnesspal.com. Easy enough to do and hey, there’s an app for that!
I am going to try to get some exercise in tonight and will hit the trail again tomorrow.
I will try to let you know how its going on this eating plan occasionally, but honestly being on day 2 seems like a huge success as admitting the problem is the first step to recovery. I just want to be healthy and while I sure need to lose weight, the more important number for me is size and exercise days per week!
I used to wish I was one of those people who was naturally thin, but you know my brother was. He ate whatever he wanted, never gained an ounce. He died of Cardiac Arrest at 53. Yeah, maybe its good that I easily gain weight and with my family’s heart history, good for me to really think about what I am eating and not overdoing it and getting my healthy carbs in!

I’m trying to lose some belly fat as well… I’m just focusing on working out and eating right. I got onto weight watchers to help me out and so far it’s been pretty good. Definitely lost some, but not all.
You are right, it’s all about monitoring what you’re eating and drinking. It’s those small things everyday that can really add up!
