When you are staying on property and want to ride Toy Story Mania, you have to get to Disney Hollywood Studios when it opens to get a shorter wait in line or decent Fast Pass time as they go pretty quickly. We arrived at the Studios just at opening at 8am – for extra Magic Hour woot woot and did the speed walk to the Toy Story Fast Pass machine to get Fast Passes for 9:25am.
We set off to the Tower of Terror, I sat that one out… me no like free falls. It was Bonnie’s first time and she stated Been There Done That no need to do again! We headed over to Rock on Rock N Roller Coaster – Bonnie’s first time and she loved it.
We met up with Laura – a new friend from PbRC who had finished the 5K that morning and went to Star Tours. Amy sat this one out and headed to get some photos made with her park friends and caught some of the Jedi Training academy.
We headed over to Toy Story and Laura since she didn’t have a fast pass the wait was 45 minutes headed over to the new Captain Jack Sparrow Pirates experience which she deemed, not so great.
We all worked hard at Toy Story Mania and this time Bonnie and Wendy were victorious – Wendy came from behind and smoked me at the last game …which is OK, cuz, again, Amy and I are Galactic Hero’s on Buzz Lightyear!
We headed over to Magic of Disney Animation Building to see what characters were available. We got in line for Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope, Amy headed to Sorcerer Mickey…..my daughter had a melt down last trip at Sorcerer Mickey when we left the line to go to Fantasmic, so I opted NOT to bring back that memory for her. I will hit up Sorcerer next trip! While we were in Line, Laura caught back up with us and gave me a tutorial on how to apply KT Tape for my tendinitis. See its educational on our trips!

After receiving multiple Twitters from RunDisney regarding the extreme heat of the race, Wendy decided her one piece tennis dress might not be the best thing to wear, so she headed off to the Expo with Laura. We headed out to the Boat to Epcot – and YES, We saw a Bald Eagle fly over the river…a real one, not animatronic! Man people were filing into the park too….um have fun waitng in line suckers!
We arrived in Epcot in jolly old England and decided to stop for a few photos on the way to Test Track. We came across the Garden of Oz on the way……which we had stared at for hours on the Disney Parks Blog a week earlier trying to get into the RunDisney meetup.
Amy and the topiary Croc….tick tock Captain Hook! |
Hey Look, Garden Of Oz Magically Appeared- Amy and I gave a stearn fist shake for not making the meet up |
My best Zach Braff monkey impression in the Garden |
We got to the Single Rider line and it said 10 minute wait…..they lied. It was more like 30, but hey way shorter than waiting in the standby line! With single rider you are not guaranteed to ride with your friends and you skip the new interactive design your car, can’t say how that is, but you can generally get on the ride pretty quickly. I miss the old temperature room, but the newly revised ride is still a blast with a very TRON look to it.
We were famished by this point so decided Fish & Chips back in Merry Old England Sounded good.
After our lunch we decided it was time to have a Carb Load beverage from the good old USA, where the Beer is cheapest! Caught up with some fun photos on the way out of England….
I changed into Super Princess shortly after this…really I did! |
Jolly Holiday with Mary, she let me hold the umbrella! |
We got to the good old USA Pavilion, enjoyed an Alpine Spring from Sam Adams while listening to the Voices of Liberty…whom ironically freed us during our Meet up blog stalking from the Oz feature. Wondered if you could mix your Gu Brew for maximum carb loading.
Don’t Try This At Home Kids |
Wendy finished her shopping spree at the Expo and we all decided to meet up in France for a little dessert and to get Amy’s Baguette for her race Provincial Belle costume. The new set up at The Boulangerie Patisserie (bakery) in the France Pavilion is much improved with INSIDE seating and a very nice bathroom for a theme park….yeah, we were all hydrating like crazy due to the Heat Advisory we were getting for the race. Of all the bathrooms, have to say this one was the nicest. All the treats were super yummy too…..we were so enthralled, NO ONE took a photo.
As we headed back to the front, we came across some princesses and got some advice for the race.

A lesson on how to hold your hands to be like a princess for photos |
We headed back to the resort to eat something and rest up for the 2:30am Wake Up. I know my posse of princesses were NOT happy about making the bus by 3:15, but we got stuck in traffic last year and I just didn’t want to stress out in traffic. I heard after the race this was smart as apparently a fellow princess at our resort who got to the bus stop at 3:30 waited 30 minutes to get on the bus t the start. Yay me for no stress…..besides it was going to be warm, so we wouldn’t be cold. Anyhoo, I met up with some other PbRCers – seriously enjoyed meeting you guys, around 4:30 and then Amy and I went to get our pre-race dinner of sandwiches and grabbed a breakfast basket – a banana, water, peanut butter and a bagel, nice touch Port Orleans! We headed to our rooms to get ready for the race.

Wendy was chillin and working on her race attire. She had scored some clothes on sale at the Expo and was stitching her Cinderella touches to them. I laid out everything and debated changing my shirt since it would be so hot…..
Back bibs for Patty and I running as Cinderella’s stepsisters – thanks for making Bonnie! |
Race option 2: Cooler shirt than my costume |
Talked to Andy and Sarah, decided to just carry the pink skirt in my pocket in case my other one got too hot and went to bed around 9:45pm. We had 2 phone alarms set and I had the hotel give us a wake up call. I wrote my race dedication on my arm….will blog about that separately I think.
I actually went right to sleep for once. Great day!
