Hey my title rhymes!
I love a good deal…. especially on shoes and running stuff. Being that I have had issues with feet and ankle I cannot skimp on shoes.
Got an email from local ATL area running The Big Peach Running Store about Peachy-palooza. They had outgrown the Brookhaven location – so they moved to that particular store. Rather than move inventory – they decided to do 50% Closeout ON EVERYTHING in this location only AND they were also going to moves a few items from other locations for closeout…plus 8% sales tax of course. It started YESTERDAY and lasts until well when the goodies are gone. Oh and don’t try calling, they were smart, no phone service at that store.
Thanks to Jen at Hello Fitness We Meet Again for posting a pic of the these deets in my local ATL Running Princess Facebook group.
I went this morning to check it out, I had to work yesterday so couldn’t make it. Here is my score… ALL at 50% off WOOT WOOT!
Here are my impressions:
I pulled up and the parking lot was full….now it was CLOSE to lunch time, but when I got in the store it was crowded with people….great news for the Big Peach!
1. I would say women’s shoes were VERY picked over.
The sales lady – whom was super quick to respond to questions and handling all the customers customers was remarkable. I tried on 4 pairs of shoes and learned that 3 of them not good for my over pronation. I ended up with some men’s Brooks Adrenaline in a size 7 to try…hey they were half price – only $55! Blue and Silver too, nice color combo.
I also splurged on some Montrail Lithia Loop Sandals for $32…hey great arch support. These might be a TAD too big, but with summer and pool season around the corner, this will be great.
Now if you wanted to try some Vibrams, seems like they had a decent inventory compared to the quantity of women’s shoes left. That being said if you are near by, pop in, you never know! I ALMOST purchased a pair of Newtons but realized that was folly for me.
2. The clothes inventory seemed a little low…. but they had short sleeves, long sleeves, windbreakers, jackets, arm warmers, hats, socks…you name it.
I was able to grab 2 pairs of Aiscs Socks – Kayano Classics with Arch Support for $5 each. These are nice socks for $5, will be interesting to see how they compare to my Feetures, which sadly there were none left.
The Running Bras for you ladies VERY little inventory, but hey if you could find your Moving Comfort Size, they were only $20, not a bad price at all. I lucked into that one and its Pink!
I am sad I did not get a signature Tshirt – which they did have on hand and sums up Atlanta pretty well…Heat, Hills, and Humidity… Welcome to Atlanta!
Photo is from the Big Peach Kennesaw store…heck I like this one so much, I might just go to my local store up in East Cobb and pay full retail.
The men’s sizes for shoes were picked over, but IMO not nearly as much as the women’s though when I realized I could be looking for size 7’s there were VERY few smaller sizes and that was the smallest size they had out. No kids shoes either.
SO is it worth it….. if you are a runner and happen to be in the area today or tomorrow definitely stop by – especially if you are a neutral runner. Can’t make it this weekend….. check the Big Peach Website for up-to-date info on Peachy-Palooza. The friendly sales clerk told me they were shocked at how many people showed up yesterday and the store was 2 times as packed. The people checking out were so friendly too…. I think its worth going by if you are around there. I am afraid if you make a trip, you might be disappointed as my impression was picked over…though still some great stuff left, that is for sure.
If you are looking to get into running or want to see if you are wearing the right shoes, The Big Peach is a great store to check out….several locations around town. You can read all about how they will do their best to get you in the right shoe with their FIT Process here.
We here in the ATL are so lucky so have such a strong running community that we have several great stores to choose from. With how fast the merchandise is leaving the shelves at Peachy-Palooza shout out and a HUGE thank you to The Big Peach Running Company for giving us great deals! Also thanks so much for the employees working the sales being so helpful and courteous among our shopping excitement! Amidst network problems they rallied to keep things moving along and customers happy!
OK, gotta run!

I trained for the princess in the Brooks, I like them. They seem to weigh a tad more than the Asics 2170’s I was in but they are comfy like them and have a tad more room in the toes I think. When Asics switched the 2100 series I decided to go get refitted to see what else would be god. Chose the Brooks, happy with them.

From the looks of your loot, it’s probably better that I am out of town and could not go to this sale! You got some great stuff! I really could use some more running socks. I love my Feetures, and wear them too much. Have you worn Brooks Adrenaline’s before? I currently wear Ghost4s, the original brand I was fitted for last summer. I really need to research different shoes and maybe branch out since the Ghost4s have been discontinued.

I am in serious buyers remorse I did’t get one of those T- shirts AuburnGirl! They are cute….

I almost got the guys Run ATL long sleeve shirt, but decided that I wouldn’t be using it much longer so I dug around some more and found a short sleeve shirt. It may be a guys but it’ll fit me a lot better than the women’s.
