Came across this on Pinterest. One thing about my running, I will probably never win or place or show at my pace. When I started, my preschooler would always ask – “Did You Win?” as I came home from races….EVERYTIME….. and I always had to say “No”.
When I started running back in 1999 for all the wrong reasons….”cuz my boyfriend of the time was a runner”; my heart was not in it because I was so slow. Of course when the relationship ended so did my running.
Four years ago I started back and have accepted my pace and love my time on the trail. I am always trying to go faster, but that doesn’t always happen. Of course I always look at my numbers – pace, place finish overall and division. Now I am just competing with myself and I sometimes fall short of my expectations. Though my attitude is certainly different than back in 2000 when I quit, I do have to remind myself after some runs….don’t lose your heart, just keep trying – and train smarter.
This week again since I was on Pinterest looking for some motivation, participating in Amy at Disney Living‘s Pinspiration Blog Hop! Check them out! She blogged about her running today!

Thanks for linking up and following Julie! I have talked my daughter into doing the ToT 10-miler with me in 2014. If that won’t make us train, I don’t know what will!

Awwwwww…Thanks Amy! Linked up for ya!When I get around to updating my blogs, I am adding yours, I enjoy it! You are doing great on your running. I would LOVE to do the 1/2 next year in January, but one can only do so many runDisney races….well at least in my family LOL.

I think acceptance is a great thing. Will I ever win a race or place in my age group, I highly doubt it with my 12mm pace. BUT when I come home and my daughter asks if I won, I says YES. Every finished race is a win in my book, because I did it.

Great attitude Jill! I think my win is getting up early to get out and exercise…..I love sleeping in LOL.
