Race Attire…Getting Patriotic!

May 20, 2013 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

I am no fashionista….heck I work at a preschool and wear T-shirts most of the time – of the race and Disney variety of course. I am all about function vs fashion, well except when it comes to running in a race.

I am never going to win a race…..really.  I am slow and there are fast people in my age group. Don’t worry, I am totally OK with it because I decided if you are not going to win, might as well look good.

With the Summer upon us, I decided to search out some fun options for a Memorial Day or Fourth of July Race – um you know we have that huge one here in Atlanta right?  The world’s largest 10k the Peachtree Road Race.   Here is what I wore last year….AMERICAN GRAFFITTI SKIRT from Sparkle Skirts! #WorthEveryPenny

Oh and Sparkle Skirts has these available too…which I am SO dying for, called GLORY– red shorts underneath. I love so much, must resist…well for now! I mean have one Patriotic skirt!

Built in Shorts on both legs, zippered pocket on waist, and NO RIDE up Shorts, it just does NOT get any better! Wear while blaring Bruce on your portable IPhone speakers!

OK, so you don’t want all this function in your patriotic wear, but want to have patriotic legs? How about Team Sparkle Stars and Stripes Race Legs?

Fun Legs Make the Outfit!

SO want to run as the ultimate American woman…OK Super Hero Style?  Team Sparkle, they have some awesome costume ideas…like this one Wonder Woman!

Lynda Carter Rules…that.is.all

Oh, you like to sparkle and want to do it multi-color?  How about Rock City Skirts Miss USA Skirt?

Great for Running, Walking, Zumba or yes, Baton Twirling! THREE COLORS – USA, USA, USA….!

Need some pockets or ways to carry your keys and phone when running a race wanting to look like a patriot? Spibelt has you covered! Check out the limited edition no bounce Stars and Stripes Spibelt benefiting the American Widow Project .
Fill this puppy up – it holds ALOT of stuff and no bounce I tell ya!

Not screaming USA, but get yourself a blue skirt and sport your Raw Threads Bamboo Tank– yeah its summer, we sweat hard here in the south!

Three Cheers for the Red, White and ….just add blue!

Its hot and I sweat a ton, here’s how to keep the sweat out your eyes in style, the Bondi Band Patriotic Star!

Keeps Sweat out of eyes and hair out of face….win.win!

So there you have it…a few of my favorite things themed to the USA.  I have tried all the products except the Rock City Skirts…which you know it will happen next St Patrick’s day….. I have heard great things about them though.  As for the others, they are fabulous products and companies to order from.  Through them some business.

Get some Bruce and James Brown on your Ipod and go for it!

Disclaimer: All opinions here are my own, I have been provided no product for free…though I certainly would love some….hint hint…pretty please?

Happy Summer – Stay Cool!
