This week the NEW interactive quest a Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas launched at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
From Jennifer Fickley-Baker Social Media Manager of Disneys Park Blog:
Inspired by the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise, this interactive quest lets you turn into one of Captain Jack’s pirate recruits, arms you with magic talismans and treasure maps, and lets you embark on one of five different pirate raids throughout Adventureland. The task is to prove your pirate worth by collecting valuable treasures while fending off some of Captain Jack’s enemies, including the Royal Navy and Captain Barbossa.
Disney Parks included a gallery of some of the cool things to see on this quest on their Disney Parks Blog. We happened to be at the parks this week and were able to give the game a spin. Funny thing, we saw the photo shoot of the kids participating in the Disney Parks Blog piece, true story.
FEATURED on the Magic Kingdom Times Guide at the park, don’t miss it! |
The adventure takes you around Adventureland – duh, home of the world famous movie inspiring attraction Pirates of the Caribbean. Pick up your supplies – located between Frontierland and Adventureland by the Golden Oak Outpost. In the spirit of the game, my recap will be in Pirate Speak:
Here be th’ sign to look fer, so authentically scurvy pirate, people were confusin’ it wit’ th’ band ‘o pirates ‘o th’ Caribbean ride. |
Comin’ from Frontierland by Golden Oak Outpost. Don’t Worry, th’ Friendly Cast Members gunna direct ye to th’ ride OR to th’ a ruckas adventure searchin’ fer treasure! |
’tis be th’ exit, be off around th’ buildin’ Matey to start ye adventure. |
Enter ye information in th’ touchscreen when prompted |
Based on ye screen input, ye gunna be directed which Treasure Map to take fer ye search. |
Ye be given a map ‘n a talisman fer ye particular treasure hunt |
’tis be th’ talisman |
Follow ye map to find th’ symbols pointin’ ye to ye treasure. |
When ye find ye symbol place ye talisman on top ‘n watch ‘n lissen fer ye next clue. ‘ |
Ye treasure hunt gunna take ye around Adventureland to th’ voices ‘o Barbossa, Blackbeard ‘n even Cap’n Jack his self. |
When t’ symbol lights up, ’tis be when th’ Arrr stuff happens keep an eye out, look sharp. |
Sure to brin’ smiles to all family members, th’ Arrr stuff be along th’ lines ‘o Agent P at Epcot, not th’ screen type stuff in th’ Sorcerer’s battle in Magic Kin’dom. |
Th’ talisman be yours to keep! |
I give this interactive game two thumbs up. It’s a fun adventure and there are several maps so you can do it again and have a different treasure hunt! The area to start your quest is done up so to look like the ride – and yeah it confused people. I do feel sorry for the cast members whom I heard tell many people “No this is not the ride, that is down and on your right”….but they were always friendly and smiling in true Disney customer service fashion.
I didn’t share special effects or clues because well I wanted you to find them for yourselves and enjoy the quest for your treasure.
Give it a try, matey! Great for couples, families, adults and kids alike! Get your pirate adventure ON!
UPDATE June 4th: We went back to Magic Kingdom yesterday and found ourselves with 20 minutes til our Jungle Cruise Fastpass time and went back the the Adventure. Learned THIS go round, you can use your park ticket as your talisman or you can get the talisman. If you use your park ticket, it remembers the adventures you have done and will assign you a new one.

“when prompted” – is that pirate speak?! I love that there are all these options when the ride lines get out of hand; still something fun!

For Pirates from jolly old England…..nothing in the translator worked and hey, I was on vacation! Totally fun thing to do waiting for your Jungle Cruise FASTPASS time to come up!

How fun! I’m hoping I to give it a try next time I find myself at MK.
Julie Franklin says
Its really short and contained, so perfect for fun in Adventureland….though the strollers today, were out of hand…they need to rethink them I think….so more room to run around to your clues.

We enjoyed it as much as our pirate loving princess! We had 20 minutes to burn today before our FASTPASS for jungle cruise was good and it was PERFECT! Fun way to pass the time.
