Disclosure: I was provided free entry into the Jost Running Virtual Race Series for August in exchange for my blog review of the race process and medals. All opinions stated are my own.
OK now that that is out of the way……
Remember this – my first virtual race ever?
The Home Run 5k From Jost Running. Yeah it was fun – here’s the recap!
I got my medal in the mail yesterday and was blown away at how cute a Hot Dog Medal Could be.
Hot Dog Hot Dog Hot Diggity Dog! Home Run Series 5k/10k Medal |
The medal reminds me of my favorite Atlanta original restaurant, The Varsity famous for its dogs – a staple growing up so I think the Hot Dog medal is so much fun!
“Walk me 2 chili dogs” – my favorite hot dogs! This has nothing to do with the race, just love the Varsity’s dogs! Photo from www.thevarsity.com |
Bling Bling! 5k/10k Medal |
I LOVE the medal! The glittery bun makes it POP! Its a nice size and weight. The ribbon has a velcro tab too so you can open and close it if you don’t want to slide it over your head.
The Folks at Jost Running sent me a Half/Full Medal too, for review. HOLY COW, that bling is AWESOME. I did not earn this medal, just reviewing, so it will NOT be going on my medal display – well until I earn it.
Here’s the review: Huge, Spins, Sparkles
1. Its huge – much bigger than I expected a virtual race medal to be.
2. It spins – the baseball diamond does.
3. It Sparkles – really the whole thing is glittery!
August Home Run Series Medals: Half/Full on Left; 5k/10k on right |
For the money, the Jost Running Virtual Race series are a bargain by looking at the quality of these medals! The cost of the 5k/10k races are $25 and the Half/Full Marathon is $35. A portion of every race entry goes to the ALS Association too.
I decided to compare the size of the medals to my favorite medal from the 2013 runDisney Princess Half. Yep, that Home Run Half/Full Medal…its definitely comparable in size and bling!
The Medals for the September series have been announced and you can sign up for a September Soaring Virtual Race Series at Jost Running (5k/10k/Half or Full Marathon). If you have a a child you want to get into running that likes planes, this is perfect incentive.
Thanks to Jost Running for letting me test out their virtual race process and for letting me review he medals! Definitely would recommend for someone who likes bling and looking for the flexibility and calm a virtual race can offer.
Have you run in any virtual races? Were you happy with your bling?
