You know when you take up running you hear how cheap a sport it is….but the truth is there are a FEW key items to take care of your feet. Shoes of course….. and SOCKS!
My sock profile: I like thin with some support. This is after years of trial and error. Oh and feet issues. I have had Plantar Faciitis and Posterior Tibial Tendinitis in my running “career”.
I have tried a bunch of socks. I think the best socks are ones they don’t crowd your feet in your shoes and you don’t notice. To me they are snug, let your feet breath and of course moisture wicking….who wants to deal with blisters? I like support too because of my past issues.
I saw the Fitsok brand on another blog and was intrigued to try them – they are not available here in Georgia, but are available in stores here or via the web on Amazon, Running Warehouse, Sock Geek, Socratees or the Fitsok website.
I contacted the friendly folks at Fitsok to ask if I could try out a pair in exchange for a review on my blog and they said yes! I was sent the CF2 Shadow Yarn Athletic Sock and the CX3 Cool Max Athletic Sock for trial and giveaway.
CX3
“The ultra-engineered CX3 is constructed with Coolmax® to provide paramount moisture wicking and cooling technology. Boasting lightweight compression, the CX3 ensures an anatomically snug fit and spun Coolmax® offers a super-soft hand to promote comfort in the most extreme conditions.”
Nice fit and some may EVEN see a hidden mouse figure! |
I decided to try out the CX3 first because its summer and I am in Georgia and its been hot and damp. I wore the green pair, for a few runs. And yes, I saw a hidden Mickey which to me was not a bad thing.
Love a little pop of color outside my shoes! |
When I first slipped in my shoes, I was worried they were too ‘slippery’ and that my feet would slide all over distracting me. Once I started, never noticed the socks at all….just the way I like it! Whether running on the track or in the hilly neighborhood the same nice experience. I noticed the arch support and loved how lightweight they were. I have washed them a few times after each wear and they are holding up great.
Summing it up, I like these enough that I am going to go buy some for myself.
I tried the CF2 next. Super soft and comfy on.
CF2
“Utilizing the high performance capabilities of Shadow Yarn, the CF2 transports moisture and heat from areas of highest to lowest concentration for a comfortable, thermally balanced sock. Microban®, an antimicrobial product, fights the growth of odor causing bacteria to keep socks cleaner and fresher. A light cushion prevents blistering and enables prolonged performance.”
They are thicker than the CX3 so a little more noticeable, but not as “slick” in the shoes. I ran one time in them for 3 miles, they were fine. For me, would be shorter runs during the week or walking. The construction feels much more substantial then my go to mass market store “everyday” socks. Another winner!
Are you ready for me to Sock it To You? SOCK GIVEAWAY!!!!!
I have 2 pair of size Medium CF2 White and 2 pair of Medium CX3 Jewel Pop to give to one lucky reader! Please note, the 3rd pair in the pack were tried by me and well I am keeping them because who wants used socks.
Medium for men are size 6-8, for women size 7-9.

I like thicker athletic socks. I have had good luck with ones I bought from Target a few months back. They have extra padding around the toes and heel as well as an extra buffer around the heel (which works for me since I always get blisters on my heels). I would love to find thinner socks that would work! The jewel pop are super fun!

CX3 I think for me. I like a thinner sock. Maybe I can smoosh my big feet into them.

Love the idea behind the CF2. I tend to blister even in good socks and shoes. Anything that might help with blisters is all good in my book.

When I first started running I thought the thicker the sock the better ( because it provided more support.) I had no idea about moisture wicking and such. Boy I had a lot to learn. That’s all I wear now. Would like the ones with the fun colors. I only wear a size 6 shoe, but hopefully they will work for me too!
Julie Franklin says
Totally agree…I can’t do thick socks!
