Move Over Don Draper, there is a new man in my life and his name is Nicholas Brody.

I have been on one of those On Demand marathon watching sprees and just finished the Season 2 Finale of ….

HOLY COW this show has taken over my life!

Here is the Showtime Homeland show description if like me you are late to this party…

The winner of 6 Emmy® Awards including Outstanding Drama Series, HOMELAND is an edge-of-your-seat sensation. Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody (Emmy® winner Damian Lewis) is both a decorated hero and a serious threat. CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Emmy® winner Claire Danes) is tops in her field despite being bipolar. The delicate dance these two complex characters perform, built on lies, suspicion, and desire, is at the heart of this gripping, emotional thriller in which nothing short of the fate of our nation is at stake.

So good and suspenseful, I could NOT turn off the TV – always had to see the next episode.  (Consider that your warning).  I stayed up too late many nights and avoided chores during this Homeland obsessive period – I just had to know what would happen next.  But when a show is as well written, directed, filmed and cast, its hard to stop watching. 

Speaking of cast,  Damian Lewis who plays “Brody”, SWOON!  That is one hot redhead.   Oh and the Peter Quinn character in season 2 played by Rupert Friend, well at my age and his, feels all kinds of creepy for me to say he is cute, BUT would have totally my type when I was in college.

BUT truly the show is NOT just about a pretty cast. A show for Mature audiences – with the violence and all, its a great one to watch “as a couple”.   There is action, thrills, suspense, romantic chemistry….all bases are covered for both the ladies and the “mens”.  Mr RWFR and I have not had a show we watch together in a while so I am getting him on the Homeland train in time for Season 3 Premiere September 29th.  We used to love to watch 24 together – and I know he will enjoy this one too.  Plus well truth be told, I don’t mind seeing more of Damian Lewis, my new favorite Ginger! 

If you are NOT a Showtime subscriber, you can download Season 1 on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, VUDU, Google Play or DVD.  Yeah I know not free, but trust me worth it! I am sure season 2 won’t be too far behind with the new season starting soon.

I enjoyed every single episode, what a thrill ride!  But as my friend Amy told me, time for me to step away from the TV!

    I loved this guy on Band of Brothers; might have to resubscribe to Netflix just so I can watch on my iPad 🙂

    I’m intrigued, I might have to go watch. I think Mr.Ran might like it.

    As for me, I’m just a Once Upon a Time geek. Love, Love, love that show. Can’t wait for it to start up again. 🙂

    I tried to get into Homeland when it first started, but just couldn’t do it, even despite my life long adoration for Mandy Patinkin. It sure does rack up the awards, though!

      OK, I did NOT even get into how much I love Mandy – SO glad you mentioned because he is simply amazing in this show as with all his gigs. Yeah I could post about how much I love him alone for his amazing career LOL. I do think this Genre of show might not be for everyone….but man we LOVE it here. Mandy Patinkin forever! 🙂
