Throwback Thursday – East Bound and Down

August 22, 2013 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

I came across this last week….. this beaut was in great shape and just parked in a lot where no one would ding it!

Smokey and the Bandit anyone?

And while YES I KNOW, this is NOT the exact same model as the Trans Am  as in the movie, I could not help but think of Sheriff Buford T. Justice, Cletus, a basset hound named Fred, a gal named Frog and of course “Bandit”.  Then I had a strange craving for an ice cold Coors and started singing Jerry Reed.

Great movie memories and I sure love the film’s tag line:

“What we have here is a total lack of respect for the law”    – Thanks Sherriff!

Trivia….Released in 1977 this was the 2nd top grossing movie of the year – a little film with a Wookie was #1.   Fun time to grow up going to the movies!

So what do YOU think of when you see a Trans Am?

I thought of Knight Rider, not that I am sure this was his ride. I love Smokie and the Bandit!

Oooohhh, handsome car!!! This reminded me of a house I often pass by on the way to work. The owner keeps awesome vintage/classic cars too! ๐Ÿ™‚

One of my friends in college had a Firebird and she regrets selling it! It was a fun ride.

Shamefully enough, I think if Ke$ha. I use the excuse that I’m only 21 =P But she mentions them in like half of her songs!

Its OK Lauren! LOL. That is why I asked to see what it made people think of and well, this is NOT on my radar. ๐Ÿ™‚
