runDisney’s Tinker Bell Half Weekend is moving from January to May in 2015, Mother’s Day Weekend to be exact!

Hate the change. Having it in MLK weekend was perfect. Didn’t have to take a day off work to travel. This has been a girls trip, can’t do that for Mother’s Day weekend. Plus the crowds at the park will be much larger. Hoping they get poor turnout (yeak, right, its a Disney race) and move it back.
No way I can do Mother’s Day…… I don’t get why it was moved to Mother’s Day. But it will sell out, might just take longer. I am super sad I won’t be able to do this one, as I heard it was a GREAT race.
Definitely makes it a tough choice for a lot of people. I don’t know that I would ever get to go anyway but May is a hard time of year with school ending, dance recitals, etc. This would make it even harder but I’ll never say never 🙂
I know in 2015 we are out because that is first communion weekend. Maybe someday, but I like my runDisney Women’s races to be for the girls….no offense to my family. I don’t want to leave them behind on Mother’s Day….but my mother in law is in Cali so who knows, maybe 2016 for me.
I’m really good with it. In January, it’s very close to the Surf City marathon, so locals have to choose, and given the fact that it’s smack in the middle of cold/flu season, I always worry about getting sick that weekend. May is great. What I don’t get is the need to place this race on a holiday weekend. From MLK to Mother’s Day? What’s that about?
Yeah what is with the holiday weekends LOL. I am not a fan to be honest..I get moving it, but Mother’s day? That makes it very hard for a girl’s weekend…I can’t leave the family at home. May is super busy too with end of school year. Heard so many great things about this race, but won’t be able to make it until 2016…yeah I already know of a conflict for me in 2015.
I think this is a great decision. There are so many Disney Races in Jan and Feb anyway, it’s nice to have the spread out a bit. Also, what a nice Mother’s day present that would be!
Not happy to be honest. I can’t do this race as a girl’s trip, can’t leave the fam behind on Mother’s Day. May is CRAZY with end of year stuff – recitals, parties, etc.
