Disclosure: I was provided a pair of Crazy Compression socks for review and promotion at no cost. All opinions stated are my own.
I was perusing my twitter account one day when I noticed a company followed me by the name of:
Being a fan of compression socks for recovery and support I went to check them out. Low and behold, I found some super cute and fun looking compression socks. I knew I had to try them for myself.
From Crazy Compression’s web site:
The world DOES need to be more colorful! |
These MADE IN THE USA (y’all know I LOVE that) compression socks have all kinds of goodness built in making them. They are functional AND fun.
When I tried on my socks I noticed immediately the arch support – they felt GREAT. The toe and heel look like they will last too without being too thick. They are very lightweight and super comfy on. Truth be told, at my first try I was bit worried they would be too long. I am 5’4″ and they came up pretty high, I could stretch them to cover some of my knee if I wanted to, but when I pulled up to the standard band under the knee length, I felt the support of my calves and shins. So taller runners, these are some long socks – good news for y’all, but they worked for short me too. The top keeps them up without feeling like your circulation is cut off. This is the 4th brand of compression I have tried and to me, compression wise they are good and do the job. Not as tight as my super expensive ones, but certainly in line with the others – so they are just as supportive and cute too.
They are truly fun in design…..solid on the front with a litttle sumpin’ sumpin’ on the back for some pizazz! Really I had a very hard time picking out which ones I wanted to try.
The sock colors currently available, Black, Pink and Purple. Among the designs LOVED the Pink Dots, Brick Road, Flowers, and OTHERS too. Check out the designs here on Crazy Compression’s website.
I ended up choosing the Purple Diamond design after MUCH debate and quite frankly fell in love. I got them for the cuteness and versatility in coordinating different colored shirts I have, you know – so I look good when I run.
Business in the front, party in the back! |
I wore them running and around before I decided to incorporate into my Publix Georgia Half Marathon race attire. This hilly race had me scared, but you know what I looked fab and my calves were snugly being massaged in the compression.
YES, you too CAN plan your race attire around Crazy Compression Coolness. |
To be honest here, I did have some issues with my calves at the end of the race (you can read about it in my recap here) – but I do believe its from being under trained on the hills. I actually made it one mile further without any issues on this super hilly course than I did at the flat Wine and Dine Half course in November where I was wearing another brand of calf sleeves. At Wine and Dine, and once my issues flared up on that race I wasn’t able to recover like I did at the Georgia Half. I really think these Crazy Compression sleeves helped me in that respect since once the cramping issues seemed to resolve, I was able to do my intervals again to the finish. That did NOT happen at Wine and Dine, I had to walk the last 3 miles – here’s that recap. I thought my legs would be much more sore the next day from the Publix Half, they were hardly sore at all.
Did I mention at the Georgia Half I had many shout outs – “Great Socks”, “Love your Socks!” Seriously I haven’t gotten that much positive attention since I ran with my stein and mickey pretzel at Wine and Dine – and I didn’t have any props like I did at that race.
Wine and Dine German beer girl complete with props..boring Calf Sleeves though! |
Publix Half loving my Crazy Compression – business in the front, party in the back. |
Runners, Volunteers, Spectators, even a police officer complemented me on my colorful flair – which you know is ALWAYS a little boost at a race. Thanks Crazy Compression for that, it was one tough race and who doesn’t love little smiles on their shins.
Crazy Compression has products for all: Over the Calf Socks, Mid Calf Socks, Calf Sleeves and Arm Sleeves. Starting at $25, I think these socks are right on the money. Solid support, Unique and Fun Designs adding a splash of color to the world – at a good price too. Say goodbye to your boring black compression products, these are a winner! Oh and you can custom design too! I should put my twitter handle on my sleeves so y’all know who I am when you see me at races!
Customize and add your image on the white part! |
