I am beyond thrilled to announce I have been selected as an Ambassador for the Inaugural Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon and 5k March 28th. Offering both a 5k and Half this is sure to be one fabulous race-cation destination. Get your girlfriends together and start planning a trip now. With the half running by 10 of the cities historic squares, this course is not to be missed! Did I mention there was wine tasting at race expo…yeah not a reason to run a half, but how fun is that ladies!
Both the 5k and Half Marathon will begin and end at Forsyth Park home to the gorgeous and much photographed fountain, showing Savannah’s charm. What an incredible place and will host the post race party fun. Here’s Mini Me and I back in August 2008!
I know with Publix as a sponsor, this race will be fabulous. They have done such a great job with the Publix Georgia Half in ATL in years past, I was sad to see they left this hometown race as a sponsor, but overjoyed when I heard they would be sponsoring this brand new women’s race.
My dad was a history buff and his absolute favorite place to visit was Savannah Georgia. The oldest planned city in the United States, established in 1733, I share my dad’s love of the charm of the city and the restored historic districts. Whether girls trip or romantic weekend with a race thrown in for fun, you really can’t go wrong with visiting this city in Georgia’s coastal plain…..and here’s a thought.
Plain = FLAT
YES a good thing in my opinion for any half marathon!

Absolutely love Savannah and I would love to do this race, but with the WDW Marathon in January, possibly Gasparilla in February and the GATE River Run directly prior to this, I don’t think it’s going to happen this year. I know it’s going to be great, though!
