Yesterday Mini Me was excited about her visit to her school’s STEM Lab – Science, Technology, Engineering, Math. As a mom who went to a school a bunch of Engineers and Scientists at Georgia Tech, I love hearing about the STEM lab. There is after all a nerd inside of me. One of the things covered yesterday: making a short film through an app. Hey it sounded fun to me and Mini Me loved it so much, she used her money to purchase the app which made all the magic happen at school.
ChatterPIX is an app where you take a photo and embellish it with stock images including the all important mouth. You record something and then the mouth will move to your words. You have designed, written, produced and stared in your own short film. Total cool use of technology and creativity! When I was making dinner I heard Mini Me recording some things about fashion, The Incredibles – complete with the word Hipster, Air Travel and birthdays. Mostly typical girly stuff until I was greeted with a huge grin and “Mom watch this one”.

Its interesting to me, with her princess and typical girly shorts, THIS was the one she was most proud of. Using a toilet to show her compassion too, love her for that. Thank goodness the toilet was semi clean!
I love how she learned something she enjoyed and brought it home. Maybe one day she will be creating fun apps herself…hey a mom can dream!

My daughter loves Monkey Lunchbox right now! I am sure she will progress quickly to something else, but that’s her favorite. 🙂

The boys love to film themselves. Their favorite app right now is the disney jr app which just updated to have games and music.
Sarah Loves that Disney Jr App and also the Curious George one where you can embellish photos. Its been a fun couple of days with her taking random photos and making them talk. Love seeing her imagination at work!
