On the heels of Mother’s Day, just discovered a song about the joys of motherhood from Nichole Nordeman called Slow Down. As I watched the video, I just felt the tears flow so of course I needed to share, grab your tissues y’all. Dear Children, Slow Down!
As we approach the end of another school year with kids leaving preschool, elementary school, middle school and high school, I thought this was quite an appropriate song for the sentiments of moms everywhere. Where ever we are on this amazing journey of motherhood, let’s remember to enjoy every second with our children. As my daughter approaches her 10th year, I wonder where time has gone and think I am a blink away from sending her off to college. I find myself saying Slow Down, stop growing up quite often these days.
On second thought, maybe I am the one who needs to just Slow Down and enjoy our time and be present in the moments we have while she is still little. Maybe that is the lesson of this song too!
