The dog days of summer have finally arrived…..after the DUCK DAYS OF SUMMER – we have had some CRAZY rain.
With this heat and humidity all I want to do is lay around. So not a fan of exercise in the summer.

So to the beat the heat and make it bearable…I take it inside to the Gym and play interval games on the treadmill. Got a great session in yesterday.

Even inside I sweat bullets – just adds to my sparkle……but discovered a great new form of hydration and energy….will discuss next week with a giveaway. Oh yes, ANOTHER giveaway is coming…..if I don’t melt that is.
AND speaking of Amy’s…..my fellow DisBroad Amy is hosting a really cute Virtual Race as a fundraiser for Give Kids The World. Its TINK inspired since there is no official Tinkerbell Half Marathon Weekend Challenge for those running both the half and the new 10k. Now you can participate ANYWHERE in Amy’s race for your 19.3 You Can Fly Medal…..run 19.3 miles, 19.3 yards, 19.3 laps, 19.3 times…..who cares….just go out there and run, walk or some combo of and get this cute medal HERE.
I guess I will work towards my medal and keep it indoors when its late in the day and I need to get my run in. How do you stay motivated in this heat and stay on track?

Silver comet is nice and flat and shady. I need to check out the Greenway trail too up in North Fulton….seems like that is shaded too.

Honestly I am so glad I was able to do most of my RWrunstreak from MemorialWknd yo July4th outdoors because it helped acclimate me to the now crazy high temperatures. I am running a bit more on the treadmill than I’d prefer but got great outdoor miles in this wknd. I ran the Kolb Farm Loop (KennesawMtn) Saturday and Silver Comet Trail Sunday, both of which were mostly shaded so I’ll be heading back to both in the future!
