Greecie Girl Nonslip Headbands For Runners Review and Giveaway!

October 18, 2013 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

What is more fun than a giveaway?  I love ’em and love having them!  Lets get to business first shall we?

I was surfing the Internet one day for some sparkly headbands and came across GreecieGirlHeadbands on ETSY, remember?  I posted about it HERE if you don’t.  GreecieGirlHeadbands are designed for runners, they are nonslip and moisture wicking in a variety of fabrics.  Mary of GreecieGirl offers a couple of fabrics that match my beloved SparkleSkirts – which is what caught my attention.  For full disclosure, she sent me a headband for review and a couple to giveaway for my readers….so here we are!

GreecieGirlHeadbands Overview

  • Handmade item
  • Made in USA
  • Colorful Selection of Fabrics
  • Materials: Spandex, wicking, Lycra

My headband arrived and to be honest, I was not sure what to think.   I received the  “Floral and Paisley Style”- which is the same fabric as Sparkle Skirts Wild One for my sparkle sisters. It was bright and pretty with a nice blue wicking inside.  The construction was quality, no threads or exposed seams.  I was concerned as it seemed not super elastic-y (is that a word?).   I have a Sweaty Band headband and Bondi Band – both VERY different in that they have LOTS of stretch, so maybe that was what I was expecting.  I didn’t see as much stretch in the GreecieGirl as either of those and was concerned.

I tried it on and did love the way it brightened up my tired face… it sure LOOKED like one of the best headbands I have tried while running.

I wore on a run with my friend Jill and it stayed on fine, which surprised me since it wasn’t too tight. It did also absorb the sweat – and y’all know I sweat bullets, right.  This particular fabric has colors that go with so much of my running attire – quite versatile.

Post run with Jill of http://mrscrashmattb.blogspot.com/

I have also worn my headband just running around doing errands and I have gotten a couple compliments “cute head band” – which has not happened with the other running headbands.

As someone who was skeptical, I was won over. They are functional exercise headbands to keep the hair back while being fashionable too.  I love that they are Made in the USA as I love supporting small businesses – especially working moms!

Mary the owner of GreecieGirl is a runner, so she knows what runners want.  She has always been kind and responsive when I asked her a question.  If you want to see what she has to offer, check out her ETSY shop at GreecieGirlHeadbands.

Here is your chance to try them out for free.  Mary sent me 2 headbands for a giveaway! They are bright and gorgeous with that blue wicking fabric inside.

One Reader Gets BOTH!

AND NOW……..the Giveaway!!!!!  Good luck.

Giveaway ends Thursday Oct 24th at 11:59pm.  Winner will be contacted right away and will have 48 hours to respond. Open to US residents only, sorry Canadian and worldwide readers.

I use a very thin headband. But I need to try using thicker one.

I usually wear Bondi Bands because they are so thin. I love Sweaty Band designs but with sunglasses and over-the-ear headphones, the SB are too thick.

Hmm….I need a lucky buff! I love having variety though and its nice to have some cuteness when I am feeling blah!

Super cute! I wear my lucky Buff when I run as a headband!

Cute! I don’t usually bother with a headband, but now that I’m growing out my bangs I need one. So I’m still looking for one I like.

Good luck Mer. Bondi is the only other band I found that didn’t slip off my head…and these look so much better on me!

I actually don’t wear anything usually. I love my sparkle visor for running outdoors, but indoors I don’t wear anything since I have issue with everything slipping off my head.

What you run in the nude? Just kidding! I have very slippery hair too, but this one stayed on. The post run pic shows how it stayed in place.

I use bondi bands but I like the idea of something else that wicks away the sweat!

These are different but good too! They look better on my head. Worth a try!

I like trying different ones…..I feel like my round head and face was not made for the cute headband look, but I DID like the way I looked in these. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bondiband by far, prove me wrong ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Julie Franklin says

Kris its VERY different than Bondiband, I do love BondiBands, I just don’t look the best. I like having options and I can wear these out and about….feel like I don’t look my best i the bondi, but they sure do work on the sweat!

I only have one- the bangbuster from Lululemon.

    • Julie Franklin says

      October 19, 2013 at 7:29 pm

I need to try that one…I stay away from Lululemon to be easy on the pocketbook….BUT um hello I am addicted to Sparkle Skirts because of the quality…..well made stuff def costs more and is usually worth it!

I love my just plain basic bands. I could use something new! Plus, with my weird, tiny head, everything is either too tight or slips off! Hopefully, this will stay put! I may just have to head over and order one anyhoOo!

    • Julie Franklin says

      October 18, 2013 at 5:41 pm

I love plain too…but sometimes a litle brighness around my face helps! Good luck, I have a strange head too…usually headbands slip right off. Good Luck!

Currently I use BAMR bands in the warmer weather and a Bondi band when its cooler.

She has fleece at GreecieGirl. I do love my bondi, but feel like I don’t look so great in them….LOL. But I wear them for function! The Greecie stayed on AND looked cute…different animal than Bondi, but worth a try…or just great for everyday!
