Disney Store Twice Upon a Year Sale and the Lost Camera Legacy

December 28, 2013 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

300x250 Disney Princess

Disney Store is in the middle of its big sale both online at Disneystore.com and in the retail locations.

Twice Upon a Year Sale! Up to 40% off at Disney Store. Shop Now!

This sale only happens twice a year – duh.  Its a great time to stock on on park souvenirs or presents for next year, really you can save some $$.

I give you a cautionary tale about stocking up too early though.  Years ago, my sister wanted a Kodak Instamatic and my mom got it for her when she saw it on sale and socked it away.  Christmas came and Santa could NOT locate where the camera had been stashed.  It became a joke in our house for years to follow about Santa NOT being able to find the camera.  Turns out, when my dad finally moved out of the house; he found it in the linen closet…..under piles of sheets and towels. It had been there for 20 years I think.

This Christmas – the legacy of memory lapse lived on in me.  Santa was having a very hard time locating a present for Mini Me.  Being his helper I looked high and low for it and came across this:

Yep, Belle and Tiana, bought last year through Disneystore.com at the Twice Upon a Year Sale for a bargain.  My purchase logic, they would finish out our princess collection – which was good because Mini Me loves playing with her princess plush.  The plan was, one for birthday and one for Christmas, but I stashed them away so well I forgot about them.  I do believe the spirits of Christmas past directed me to them since I wasn’t even looking for them.  Santa delivered them this year.

Know what else I forgot about….now this is funny, cuz um its NOT exactly a small purchase.

Yeah, Space Mountain. In looking for the missing present, I didn’t look in big unmarked box.  The day after Chrsitmas Mr. RWFR comes up from the basement and asked, “what are you planning on doing with Space Mountain?”

Well, apparently WE do in our house.  SO now space mountain sits in the basement until I can remember to gift it to Mini Me.  Hopefully it will be before we sell this house…which no plans anytime soon for us to move!  I wonder what other treasures are in our basement?

So remember as you shop for bargains at :

Twice Upon a Year Sale! Up to 40% off at Disney Store.

You will need to remember where you stash your future gifts and park souvenirs.  Oh and as always if you spend more than $75, you can get FREE shipping using promo code “SHIPMAGIC”.  Have a Magical Shopping Experience!

Oh and PLEASE tell me I am not the only one who forgets about stashed presents?

We did the same thing. We already have our 2014 Christmas stash started with stuff we forgot about.

HILARIOUS! We eventually found all the presents this year- but we didn’t buy too many too early!! Thanks for the heads up on the sale!

I have a cart full of stuff from the sale, just waiting to pull the trigger. We almost couldn’t find the American Girl Doll that we bought for our daughter last year. That would have been bad.

Thank you Lisa…I was running around like crazy looking for mini Julie and books from Costco when I came across Belle and Tiana!

I have yet to find something I stashed for Christmas 2 years ago- you are not alone! (It’s nice to see Tinker Bell’s future sisters; so glad you found Belle and Tiana!)

Hahaha…that’s like in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation when Clark is hiding the present up in the attic and stick his hand between two boards and pulls out a fully wrapped present covered in dust from years ago.

My grandma would do that all the time. Actually she would just by things that were on sale any time of the year and then decide who she could give it to. She was so generous! She has passed away 5 years ago and we are still finding gifts that she had hidden. It’s kind of cool to think after all these years she is still gifting us!

That is really cool! My mom was that way. She LOVED the JCPenny outlet and got major bargains there!
