Here Come The Octonauts! DVD Review and Giveaway

December 31, 2013 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

nCircle Entertainment asked if I would be interested in reviewing the DVD “Here Come The Octonauts” and I jumped on the chance.   As a mom of a 7 year old and TV lover, it has been very important for me to find quality shows for my little one over the years.  I watch TV with mini me, so its also been important I could stand watching the shows, really I can’t sit through bad TV.

If you aren’t familiar with the Octonauts, its a series about a crew of 8 – seven animals and one Turnip on their “Octopod” exploring the world’s oceans, rescuing the creatures who live there and protecting habitats both above and below the waves.  The characters led by Captain Barnacles Bear work together to Explore, Rescue and Protect!

The DVD “Here Come the Octonauts” contain 6 episodes of the award winning show which is featured in the morning on Disney Channel’s Disney Junior block.  The characters are adorable and the voices are so fitting to the quirky personalities of the crew.  We have enjoyed all the episodes, when I asked mini me which was favorite episode, her reply “I like all of them” – no she really did like all of them.  Of course she will tell you Dashi Dog is clearly her favorite crew member.  Mini me has asked to watch the DVD again and again without skipping any of the included episodes.  I like that while its entertaining – even to my seven year old, she is learning about the ocean and the creatures and habitats and working together as a team. I believe this show has the staying power to last and hold a child’s attention from early on preschool age through grade school.

I was excited to here recently the Octonauts teamed up with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to work jointly to race awareness of ocean exploration and science.  Lots of great things coming in the new year!

And while you are waiting you can dive into the New Year and into adventure with everyone’s favorite underwater explorers.  “Here Come the Octonauts” is available for the FIRST time on DVD on January 7, 2014, from NCircle Entertainment—available at Walmart and many other retailers and grocery stores nationwide!

BUT one lucky reader will not have to purchase! I am giving away ONE copy of the “Here Come the Octonauts” DVD on my blog!  This giveaway is open to all US and Canadian citizens.  Just enter in the Rafflecopter below and one reader will be selected.  Good luck!
