Holiday Gift Guide: Books Worth Reading

December 6, 2013 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

2013 Holiday Gift Guide

Day 6: 2014 RWFR Holiday Gift Guide is for the readers in your life.  I present some books which of course are a combo of running related and Disney related.  I have had the pleasure of meeting the authors, in person or online. Kudos to all those who write to entertain, educate us and help guide us!  These books really add to a Disney Vacation and y’all know I love my Disney Vacations!  To learn more about each book, click on the photo or go to the website listed.  Happy Shopping!

101 Disneyland Tips
by Cam Bowman
http://101disneylandtips.com/

Our first trip to Disneyland in 2009, we went blind.  Did hardly any research. We missed so much, I wish this book had been around. With the prices of Tickets to the Parks being what they are, its nice to have a book like this to help you get the most bang for your buck!   You can follow along with Cam at her website Growing Up Goofy,  via Twitter @CamBowman or Facebook page GrowingUpGoofy.

Runners Guide to Walt Disney World
by Krista Albrecht and Megan Biller

This informative book covers all aspects of running a runDisney race at Walt Disney World – from the time you land at the airport to the race it self. Great info on how to plan and prepare for your race including accommodations, transportation, park visits, dining, and of course the race itself.  Megan and Krista, Disney runners themselves, have done fab job of putting so much info together in one place.  Race entries being what they are, its truly a service to see how you can get the most out of your race-cation whether a runner or cheerleader!  Oh and to try to win your own copy, my friends at Run We Disney are giving a copy away – last day to enter December 14th.  You can follow the authors on twitter @RunWDW, their Facebook Page RunnersGuideToWDW or their website Runners Guide to WDW

Magical Mouse Schoolhouse
by Jodi Whisenhunt

“Learn while you play at Walt Disney World Resort”.  I heard a Key Note talk at Type A Conference in September around Getting Creative by Gary Buchanan, Social Media Managing Editor at Disney Parks. Gary shared with us about Walt Disney’s vision with Disneyland.  Walt was all about storytelling in everything including how the park was designed and decorated, every detail.  He also believed every story should both entertain and educate.  This book carries on that legacy.  It shares you how you can enjoy the parks while helping your kids learn.  You get some Disney history and facts about the Walt Disney World Park itself and you also are given ways to learn through activities you can do at home around the parks.  Its a fun read and a sure hit for parents – Disney fanatics or not.  To keep in touch with author Jodi you can follow her on twitter @MagicalMouseSch, Facebook at Magical.Mouse.Schoolhouse, or on her website Magical Mouse Schoolhouse.
Any of these books sound good to you? I know several people who would love then!
