Jock Lindseys Hangar Bar Now Serving at Disney Springs!

September 23, 2015 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar

With an imaginative, playful design that tells the story of a man who loved the adventure of flight, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is now open at Downtown Disney® at Walt Disney World® Resort. This cozy lounge features light bites and drinks inspired by Jock’s globe-trotting, including a stint as the pilot for Indiana Jones in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

We first met Jock Lindsey in Raiders of the Lost Ark as Indiana Jones escapes from Amazonian headhunters, and Jock waits in the plane fishing. When hearing Indy’s fear of snakes at Jock’s pet Reggie, Jock informs Indy he needs to get a backbone.

From salvaged equipment to spare airplane parts, Jock’s mementos decorate the inside of the Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) lounge. Outside his old canvas-covered steamboat is a fun place to watch the sunset.

Jock Lindseys Hangar Bar

Though Jock may be gone, his adventures live on at this exotic watering hole. And, that’s what gives the place its charm – and a creative menu of adventurous tastes. Enjoy crispy calamari flatbread with a kick from harissa and peppery arugula; Dr. Elsa’s She-Deviled Eggs; “Good” Dates stuffed with goat cheese; and a Snack of Ra for a taste of Africa with salads and dips served with injera (bread) and naan crisps. Along with beer and wine, mixologists are having fun with cocktails, such as the Cool-Headed Monkey, The Scottish Professor, Reggie’s Revenge and Anything Goes, all crafted with spirits from around the globe.

Check out the full bar menu and specialty cocktails here.

Jock Lindsey's Hanger Bar

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday-Thursday, and until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday (no reservations).

Located on the waterfront between Paradiso 37 and The BOATHOUSE, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is part of the largest expansion in Downtown Disney history, which will transform the area into Disney Springs, a lively shopping, dining and entertainment destination. Guests at Disney Springs will have a unique Disney experience amid beautiful open-air promenades, flowing springs and waterfront charm.

This is most definitely going on my must hit places at Disney Springs as Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of my all time favorite films. Reports back from the first 2 days in operation are that it is wonderful both food and beveragewise and visually! I can’t wait to watch the sunset with Reggies Revenge in hand.

How does Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Lounge sound to you?

Sounds like such a fun place! Seriously if I ever make it back to Downtown Disney, I am definitely going to check this place out!
My sister is going down there in about a month, I have to pass this onto her, she would love hanging out one evening at a place like this!
