Five Reasons to Stay At A Volcano Bay Resort On-Site When Visiting Universal Orlando’s Water Park

July 17, 2017 by Julie @RunWalkRepeat

For summer vacation this year, our family chose Universal Orlando to try the new water theme park, Universal’s Volcano Bay. To experience the resort, we chose a Volcano Bay on-site vacation, staying at both Cabana Bay and Portofino Bay. On-site is ideal for visiting Volcano Bay and all Universal Resorts has to offer. Ready to take on the thrills, soak up the sun and experience everything Volcano Bay On-Site has to offer?  Here are five reasons why staying at one of Universal Orlando’s on-site hotels is the best way to maximize your visit to Volcano Bay:

1. Get In Before Everyone Else

By staying on-site at Universal Orlando Resort, you receive Early Park Admission to Volcano Bay. That means you can enter the park one hour before the scheduled opening and check out the rides before everyone else not staying at any of the Universal resorts.  Our family visited two mornings and getting in an hour before opening definitely gave us a jump on the top attractions like the Krakatau Coaster. Keep in mind the first to enter the park get first dibs at chairs and umbrella shaded chaise lounges too on the beach or throughout the park!

2. Walk or Ride and Save Time

Forget hopping in the car and driving to the parks. When you stay on-site, you just need to roll out of bed and make your way over. No getting the car wet. No getting up early to drive. No parking. Enjoy Volcano Bay the hassle-free way!

Guests staying at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort located next door to the water park can walk to Volcano Bay on the dedicated walking path – and I am talking a five-minute walk. Guests staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort enjoy complimentary shuttle bus transportation. I find the shuttles at Universal superior to other Orlando resorts as they run regularly and on time. Because everything at Universal Resort is close to each other, the shuttle rides are very short.

Note there is NO parking AT Volcano Bay. Offsite guests must pay to park at the CityWalk decks and shuttle over.

3. Make Purchases with Your TapuTapu Wristband

When you visit Volcano Bay, TapuTapu wrist band not only reserves the attractions, it acts as your currency. Yep, don’t carry your credit card, cash or wallet around. You can make purchases throughout Volcano Bay using TapTu Pay. It is easy, create an account through the Official Universal Orlando Resort App or online, link your party’s Volcano Bay tickets, add your credit card information and create a pin number. Click here to set up your account and learn more about TapuTapu before your visit. TapuTapu is a free wristband given to all water park visitors for the day of the visit, you will get them when you enter the park and turn them in as you exit the park each day.

4. Experience Shopping without the Baggage

Interested in purchasing gifts but don’t want to carry it around? When you stay on-site, have your merchandise delivered back to your hotel for free. All you need to do is tell the Team Member at the gift shop you’d like to have your purchases delivered to your hotel.

Guests staying at Cabana Bay Beach Resort will have their purchases delivered to Luggage Services in the hotel lobby for pick up. Guests staying at the other on-site hotels will have their merchandise delivered to their hotel rooms.

5. Enjoy Views Beyond Belief

Nothing beats waking up in the morning, looking out the window and seeing a 200-foot volcano.

When you stay in a Volcano Side Room at Cabana Bay Beach Resort, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Volcano Bay all day long.  Cabana Bay offers a standard resort room with two queen beds, a family suite with extra space to accommodate up to 6 guests and two bedroom family suites for up to 8.

Make the most of your Volcano Bay visit and stay on-site at Universal Orlando Resort. You’re just a hop, skip and a jump away from the fun!

Interested in a vacation at Universal Resort?  Contact me for your vacation quote at [email protected] Whether experiencing all the Universal Orlando Theme Parks, or just enjoying Volcano Bay, Universal On-Site resorts offer superior amenities and accommodations close to all the action. I have been there and love helping my guests know lots of tips and tricks to save you time and money.

Have you been to Volcano Bay yet? If not, it is a total blast, we LOVED it.  If so which was your favorite attraction?
