R.O.C. 5k – Atlanta Race Entry GIVEAWAY!
Disclosure: I was provided race entries for giveaway to promote this race on my blog. As always all opinions are my own.Do you enjoy a good obstacle course? Like Foam Parties, Moon Bounces, Slides, Swings and Wrecking Balls? Are you a fan of Wipeout or TV Game Shows with Physical Challenges? OK, this has nothing to do with the TV show, but the wrecking ball brought it to my mind. If you answered yes to any or all of these, I have a race for you: The R.O.C. 5k … [Read More...]
Princess Half Marathon: Don’t Fear the Sweepers or Balloon Ladies
I got a message from a friend a couple weeks ago who admitted she had slacked on her training and asked me if she should even try the Princess Half Marathon. My advice was if she wanted to try the race, go for it but just know that they might have to pull her off the course if she cannot keep of the minimum pace. The reality of most large races is eventually they need to open up the roads closed for runner safety and volunteers and paid race staff need to go home. This is especially true … [Read More...]
Win a Trip to runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon from Champion Sports
One of my favorite trips last year was to runDisney's Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend with my DisBroad friends. The weekend includes a half marathon Saturday night that starts at 10pm, runs through Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios AND Epcot. I am NOT a night runner, but I did love the course - and you run through the Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios which took my breath away. When else can one run wearing Germany Mickey Ears, dressed in a dirndl, carrying a … [Read More...]
runDisney Princess Half: How Long are the Character Lines
You run with my crowd, its a mad sprint from Character to Character. OK, sprint for US. A question often asked and hard to answer is "How Bad or Long are the character lines at a runDisney race?" The answer, it really varies - whomp, whomp. They do put out characters they you don't get to see too often or easily in the parks, so the photo opps are great. Some lines are super long, some are not. Oh, no autographs allowed to keep things moving. Most of the characters are in the parks - … [Read More...]
Fun Friday: Character Photo Stops at 2012 Princess Half Marathon
Continuing on the idea of:I wanted to briefly touch on Character Stops at the Princess Half Marathon. In 2011 and 2012 at the runDisney booth at the expo, they had a GREAT poster with "Mile Marker Entertainment" essentially, where to look out for characters. They did not have this last year at all. Remember, this is what has been done in the PAST, so no guarantees about what we will get for characters in the 2014 Race, but as you can see, there are LOTS of … [Read More...]

Disney Princess Half Weekend: 10k Course Epcot Restroom Map
The Disney Princess Enchanted 10k Course Map can be found HERE. Its the same course as the Donald Half Marathon held in January at Walt Disney World during Marathon Weekend. The Enchanted 10k is on Saturday of Princess Half Marathon Weekend and is the first leg of the official Glass slipper Challenge. Based on this course, thought it would be helpful to illustrate potential bathroom stops for the 10k Princess Half Weekend as yes, it was the same as the WDW Half from January. My best … [Read More...]

Princess Half Marathon Potty Time: Where are the Real Bathrooms Avoid Using the Port O Potty
Look, when you start running you have to accept the fact that you WILL be using a Port O Potty. They are set up at race start and finishes for convenience and along the course as well. While I have truly not been disgusted in the 4 runDisney I have participated in - Princess Half 2011, 2012, 2013 and Wine and Dine 2013, I do try to avoid the unlit, little shacks if at all possible. I LOVE the Disney races because when you are in the parks on the course, there are PLENTY of bathrooms open to … [Read More...]
