Race Report: Historic Roswell 10miler/5k
This was an inaugural race and consisted of a 10 mile race with medal and a 5k race. Since I have kind of petered out with my running since the princess I opted for the 5k - I actually drove the course of the 10 mile to decide if I wanted to do that race. Packet Pickup:Early Packet Pickup was at the local shoe store, truly my favorite, sponsor Abbadabba's. I walked right in around 2pm and picked up my bag with my race swag including lululemon tote, travel toothbrush - thanks Dr Bill, … [Read More...]
At A Loss – Boston
The Boston bombing has me so emotional. First of all I want to say I cannot even begin to understand what those at the finish experienced, though I imagine it was just horrible. I think of the boy who was killed, there to watch his dad finish the race....and he lost his life. His mom, she has suffered some serious injuries, I heard brain, not sure but my heart aches - does she know her beautiful boy is gone or her sweet girl has lost a leg. The little sister lost one leg … [Read More...]

Motivational Monday: Goals
I have been wanting to beat my PR times. When I was in training mode for the Princess Half Marathon, I got stronger in my runs and was thinking with the right race conditions, IE flat course, I could do it. Confession time, I totally slacked off after that race in my running. Ran a tiny bit here and there, not my 3 runs a week - 1 treadmill speed work, 1 neighborhood hills and 1 long run. THIS is how I got stronger and is what it takes. Last week I got back on track. This coming Saturday, … [Read More...]

Thrifty Thursday – T-SHIRT TIME: GEEK OUT
Our next WDW trip is during Star Wars Weekends...we aren't going specifically FOR that, but its a bonus. Hubs and I are geeks, self admitted so this sounds fun! Before each trip, I freshen up our family supply of Tshirts for comfy and festive park touring, normally at the Disney Store. I went looking for a Star Wars one last night on my favorite site for fun stuff of all geeky genres "Think Geek - stuff for Smart Masses". This is a great place shop for hard … [Read More...]
Reggie???? Is that you?
Remind me to get the my princesses' Indiana Jones whip and stow it in the SPIbelt the next time I am on the trail at the river! (Doesn't every family have a whip belonging to their daughter?) This guy was enjoying the weather today....in the middle of the trail. About 3 feet long, he was black with some markings, an Eastern King Snake I believe.ICK.While this kind of snake eats the bad snakes, I shutter to think of what else was lurking around! In the words of our family's favorite … [Read More...]

Being what I would call the "Casual Runner" I love seeing race costumes and of course enjoy Disney races for this reason that people dress up.I came across these socks and thought they would be fun for someone wanting to run as everyone's favorite female super hero WONDER WOMAN.
