Mega Millions
The Mega Millions lottery is up to a record $640 MILLION dollars. My first thought was "I could do EVERY RunDisney Race if I win"......and stay in the Polynesian Resort or the Grand Californian.Hey at least I picture myself as a HEALTHY rich person because that would require no slacking in my training!Oh and I have GOT to do that Deadwood Half someday too.......so many races, so little budget. One can always dream. … [Read More...]
The “I Don’t Want to Workout” Training Run
It is no secret I have been a total slacker since the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon the end of February, heck I owe a trip and race report - I will do one I promise AND I have only run like 2 times.I signed up for the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race 10k Lottery - HUGE race 60,000 runners July 4th, fun time and to be honest I was hoping to not get in. I mean its hot, has some serious hills, the logistics of dealing with the start and end, blah blah blah. I am toying with doing a 1/2 Marathon in … [Read More...]
Hey Remember Me….Still on track
So only 39 days until the Princess 1/2 and I am on track well kind of.It has been AGES since I posted and I did go to the sports doc. I have Posterior Tendinitis in my left food. This has been causing the tightness in my ankle and the soreness in my arch. My doctor gave me some stretches and told me I could go have a gait analysis and work with a coach which I chose not to do. To be fair the doctor told me that was totally up to me.December came and went....I got slack … [Read More...]
Week 2 of 20…the 4 miler and 9lbs
Got in 4 miles today as scheduled. Felt OK the first 25 minutes, then got tired.I changed up my intervals to 1 min run/1 min walk to see if I can feel stronger with shorter runs....did 6.4mph run for 1 minute and 4.4mph run for 1 minute. I liked this pace actually though after 25 minutes a few runs were less than 6.4mph when I was feeling I was too out of breath and needed to slow down. Went to the gym since again I chose to sleep in and needed free child care....hey, it works! … [Read More...]
Week 1 of 20 Training – CHECK!
Hooray! After many weeks of laziness I am back! I got all my scheduled runs in this week.....which is only 3 and I actually rode my bike one day. I am following the Jeff Galloway training plan for the Princess 1/2 and I have 20 weeks. Its basically 2 weekly runs of 30-45 minutes, 1 long run and some cross training each week. This week the "long run" was only 3 miles....and each week I will tack on to it until race day.Today I decided to sleep in and avoid the cold - which forced … [Read More...]

Emotional Eating……….
I am a very emotional person AND an emotional eater. Well that explains the 30 lbs I need to loose! You know even JUST 25 would also be OK by me.....This weekend after my race I came home to some really sad news. My brother in law who was treated for stage 1 lung cancer last year had a bad routine follow up scan this week. Apparently there is some stage 4 cancer in one of his ribs. I am beyond sad.My sister met her husband probably when I was about 10 or 11. … [Read More...]

Back in the Saddle Again…………….
Well I am 3 for 3 in planned runs this week vs completed. Been a long time since I have been able to say that!Conditions this morning were fantastic....60 degrees, partly cloudy, slight breeze. I love running when the weather is SO nice. The course I ran today is down by the river so its flat and some of it packed gravel. Really enjoyable day to be outside. Only issue I had was one time going up a very small hill I felt serge of quick pain in my heel.....so I tried to … [Read More...]
